WA Delegate and Vice Delegate Empty Re: WA Delegate and Vice Delegate

I don't think anything needs to change about the delegates. I assume that their duties are the same as they were before the government change, except now the delegate is responsible for regional management. If they haven't changed, then, the duties should be something like this:

The delegate is required to vote with the majority of the region's WA members on WA resolutions. If a nation requests the delegate to approve a certain WA proposal, the delegate must either approve it or hold a vote among the WA members of the region; the vice-delegate is responsible for organizing the vote and collecting votes, then presenting the results to the delegate.

If that's how it is now, I think we shouldn't change it. Nothing more is really necessary, other than the obvious regional management.

I totally agree with GROSS. However, I would also like to see that the regional delegate, in the future, will not be able to hold more than one office. Now that the delegate has the additional power of regional management, I see any further power as being a little over the top.

I actually think that the Delegate's job should be to represent our Region in the WA only. The vice delegate shouldn't exist, because I think that it would be hard maintaining a consistency in the delegate's number of endorsements.

@Gatito: Well, the vice-delegate isn't chosen by endorsements. They could have 0 endorsements. It's just the person whom the delegate chooses to be his or her vice-delegate, no matter how many endorsements they have. We don't tell people to endorse the vice-delegate either.

So, how 'bout no vice delegate, and a WA delegate who's only purpose is to represent us in the World Assembly.

Ok, we'll do a vote on it so we get this cleared up. Although, Gatito, the delegate will at least assume the responsibility of managing the region, because Kialga's not going to be on.

Vote Options:

1: We will have no vice-delegate; the delegate will assume all responsibilities that the vice-delegate previously held.

2: We will have a vice-delegate, and he or she will assume the responsibilities listed above.

If anyone else proposes another idea, it will become an option for the vote.

I vote for number two. The delegate will have enough doing his own jobs, let alone the vice delegate's job.

Number one. The job of managing the region belongs to the executive people. The only regional responsibility he/she should have is preforming administrative tasks under the order of the executives.

I vote 2, because if there were to ever be an issue like before where the delegate becomes inactive, *cough cough GROSS*, we'd need them as a backup to automatically assume the position.

Hey, let's not get hostile here. I had a reason for that, because I had 16 tests to prepare for in the final week and a half of school. I'd say that has priority over delegate duties.

I find it simple: The person with the next highest endorsements becomes the next delegate. There is no need for a vice delegate, even if the delegate has 16 tests to prepare for.

@Gatito: The vice-delegate isn't really intended to take up delegate duties, and he or she doesn't become the next delegate, either. The VD's job is only to organize votes to decide if the delegate should approve a WA proposal or not, if it becomes necessary. It simply takes away from the workload that the delegate has to do; outside of helping the delegate with that, the VD doesn't have authority over anything.

The Delegate should have the right to vote for whoever he or she wants. I think that endorsing somebody should be saying "I want this person, and their political views, to represent our region in the World Assembly".

Then, with the flux in endorsements, we'd have new delegates all the time. Sorry Gatito, but I don't think that'd work out.

We'll call this vote decided, then. The duties will remain the same, and the delegate will, from now on, only be able to hold that office (because he or she will have admin powers over the region).

On to the next topic!
