Re: Intelligence Group
I think we should keep the intelligence group pretty much the same as is, or perhaps get rid of it. An intelligence team is a nice asset to have, but nobody ever dos anything within it. If we could devise a way to ensure more activity, maybe it would work better. Thoughts?

Re: Intelligence Group
Personally, I see little purpose for it. It may be easier to simply dissolve the position.

Re: Intelligence Group
I agree, unless someone comes up with a useful way to keep it functional. In the INU, most of the members hope to make a sort of defense organization (the anti-raiding type of defense); perhaps, if the IWU wishes to contribute, the intelligence team could become useful for that. Again, though, I agree with you, Vizindolf.

Re: Intelligence Group
I think that we should keep it, but make its activity minimal, unless we get something cataclysmic on our hands.

Re: Intelligence Group
Since we have no other ideas, then, we'll have to proceed to a vote.
Vote Options:
1. The Intelligence Group will be abolished due to inactivity and lack of use.
2. The Intelligence Group will assume minimal activity until an emergency occurs.
If anyone else has further ideas, please post them and they will become options themselves.

Re: Intelligence Group
I vote option 1. If we do eventually find a need for it, we can re-establish the position. Until then, it's a waste of time.

2, because it would not be a waste of time if it was at minimal (like VERY minimal) activity during the time of not using it.

Re: Intelligence Group
I say Option 2. Somebody may want to be on it. Might as well let them, even if they job doesn't do much.

Re: Intelligence Group
I say option 2 as well. Better to have a pointless position you don't need now then try making one when its' too late.

Re: Intelligence Group
Alrighty, now that this is working, I'd have to vote option 1. I'm all for getting rid of unnecessary sectors of government.

Okay, so now we're back to square one. Should I call in Otitag to be the tie breaker?

Re: Intelligence Group
No, we need to have an individual person. However, perhaps I can sway the minds of those who voted for option 2.
The way I see this, if things work out, this is only the abolishing of the intelligence team of the IWU. Virtually everyone in the INU wants the region to become a defender, and this idea has gained support in the ISU and IAU. The more complex plan that is primarily supported is that alongside the interregional government that will (hopefully) be formed with the INU, ISU, IAU and IWU, there will be an interregional defense organization as well (essentially meaning all four regions would be defenders, but working as one). When the time comes, I will be presenting my very thorough plan for this to the IWU, as it is the critical region for the idea's success. Provided the IWU decides to support the defense organization, there will be a great need for intelligence teams, as defenders need to infiltrate raiding regions to become knowledgeable of upcoming attacks. If we abolish the IWU's intelligence team, it will leave us more people to work in intelligence for the defense organization, which will have a more round-the-clock need for them.

Re: Intelligence Group
Not convening enough.
In case you want it, Otitag says he desires the abolition of the IWU government, the annexation of the ISU, INU and IAU, and to crown him as the supreme ruler of the newly named International Grasshopper Union, the most feared raider region in all on Nationstates.

Re: Intelligence Group
That sounds great, Gatito. The IGU. Rather... unusual?
@Everyone: It really is pointless to sit here and wait for the tie to be broken--as a result, we'll go ahead and start the next topic while we wait for a tiebreaker vote.

Re: Intelligence Group
Ah, why not. I guess you have a point. Since we will be adding more positions in the government due to interregional stuff, we may as well get rid of the Intelligence Group. I guess people operate their own intelligence missions when they want to, anyway, so the position isn't completely necessary. I'll go ahead and change my vote. Let's move on.

That, then, will conclude this.
